Pursuant to Maine Revised Statues Title 36 Section 557-A, the assessors of the Town of Blue Hill hereby give public notice of the tax assessment of the following properties for which no owner has been known for at least the preceding 20 tax years: Map 29 Lot 70; Map 39 Lot 37X; Map 39 Lot 15. These properties are being assessed to an “unknown owner” as the result of the failure of a reasonable search to ascertain the owner of record. If the owners remain unknown and assessed taxes remain unpaid, the tax lien and foreclosure procedures of Maine Revised Statutes Title 36 Sections 942 and 943 will be followed. Anyone claiming legal ownership of any of these properties must notify Blue Hill’s Tax Collector Lyndsey Dow via email at, by calling the Town Office at 374-2281 or by appearing in person at the Town Office during business hours at 18 Union Street. Due to incomplete school financials, the 2023 Annual Town Meeting is postponed until Saturday, June 3 at 9 a.m. in the school gym. The local election will be held as scheduled on Friday, April 7 with voting 2-6 p.m. at the Town Office. Absentee ballots are now available.

Please take notice that Norman and Mark Joyce, 26 Church St, Deer Isle, Maine, is intending to file a Natural Resources Protection Act permit application with the Maine Department of Environmental Protection pursuant to the provisions of 38 M.R.S. §§ 480-A through BB on or about March 31, 2023. The application is dredging out our dock for navigation at the following location: 17 Liberty Pole Point Rd, Stonington, Maine. A request fora public hearing or a request that the Board of Environmental Protection assume jurisdiction over this application must be received by the Department in writing, no later that 20 days after the application is found by the Department to be complete and is accepted for processing. A public hearing may or may not be held at the discretion of the Commissioner or Board of Environmental Protection. Public comment on the application will be accepted throughout the processing of the application. For Federally licensed, permitted, or funded activities in the Coastal Zone, review of this application shall also constitute the State's consistency review in accordance with the Maine Coastal Program pursuant to section 307 of the federal Coastal Zone Management Act, 16 U.S.C .§ 1456. The application will be filed for public inspection at the Department of Environmental Protection's office in Bangor during normal working hours. A copy of the application may also be seen at the municiple offices in Stonington, Maine.
