Local libraries to host virtual author talk on living healthy post-pandemic life

The Ellsworth Public Library will partner with Bass Harbor Memorial Library, Buck Memorial Library, Friend Memorial Public Library, Jesup Memorial Library, Northeast Harbor Library and Witherle Memorial Library for a virtual author talk with Doreen Dodgen-Magee, author of Restart: Designing a Healthy Post-Pandemic Life, on Wednesday, January 5, at 7 p.m. on Zoom, according to a press release. The event is free and open to the public. Registration is required. The program is supported by a grant from the Maine Community Foundation.

The talk will explore the impact that COVID-19 and the lockdown have had on people’s mental health and well-being, according to the release, and will also address how to use the restart as an opportunity for growth and health. Information on how to identify and break pandemic habits that will no longer serve people will be offered alongside practical tips and tools for thriving.

Dodgen-Magee is an author, psychologist, researcher and speaker. To learn more and to register, visit ellsworthlibrary.net/calendar.
