New addiction recovery meeting being offered on Deer Isle
“The Cure” is a meeting, grown out of the Calvary Chapel Bangor, for those who struggle with addiction. The meetings, led by Carl Woodward and Justin Burnett, are Thursdays at 6 p.m., at 652 North Deer Isle Road, Deer Isle, starting March 21.
“This island is clearly suffering. We are a small community and we all know the stories. We see the hurting and wounded among us, both the addicted and the ones that love them. This meeting is a way that we can help,” Woodward stated in a news release.
In over a decade of attending Calvary Chapel Bangor, Woodward watched many men and women that entered the Calvary Residential Discipleship Program be set free from their addictions. The Cure, held in numerous locations, was created for addicts that cannot enter into a full-time discipleship program, for those working to stay connected after becoming sober, and the family and friends of the addicted. The meetings are free and all are welcome. The principles apply to all and any addictions. For more information, call Carl or Nina Woodward at 367-2349.
