July 3 Pops concert and dinner tickets available

Bagaduce Music announces that tickets are on sale for the 29th annual Blue Hill Pops Concert, on Wednesday, July 3, at 7 p.m. in the George Stevens Academy gymnasium, Union Street, Blue Hill.

A summer season tradition since 1990 and a yearly fundraiser for Bagaduce Music, this year’s concert,“A Downeast Sampler,” will feature Maine humorist Tim Sample as Master of Ceremonies, according to a press release.

Local vocal ensemble Ellacappella will lend their harmonies and Baltimore jazz band Tongue in Cheek will perform Neo-Traditional American Jazz as well as being the evening’s house band. Big Moose Contra Dance Band will entertain audience members as they arrive, and a winner of Bagaduce Music’s 23rd annual Young Composers Competition will make a cameo appearance. As in past years, Blue Hill Pops will conclude with a sing-along of patriotic songs.

Prior to the concert, there will be a reprise of last year’s Pre-Pops Dinner and Auction, featuring a BBQ prepared by Bianco Provisions, followed by a Downeast Auction of opportunities and experiences. The George Stevens Academy award-winning jazz combo “Jam Bake” will welcome diners.

Table seats, reserved chairs and bleacher seats for the concert are available as are dinner tickets. For tickets or more information, call Bagaduce Music Community Outreach Manager Michele Corbeil at 374-5454.
