New Surry Theatre brings new performance
This fall, New Surry Theatre brings the stage version of an infamous film noir to the Blue Hill Town Hall Theater. When Vera Caspary’s mystery-with-a-twist Laura was turned into a film, it became a cultural phenomenon. Few knew that Caspary was so disappointed with the film portrayal of her book that she cowrote a stage version, according to a news release. It is Caspary’s play, cowritten with George Sklar, that New Surry Theatre will open on November 2.
NST’s production is directed by Robin Jones and staged managed by Lori Sitzabee. The production features local actors Bryan Lescord, Johannah Blackman, Randall Simons, Tyler Johnstone, Hoyt Hutchins, Leanne Nickon, Vanessa Hawkins and Michael McFarland.
Tickets are available through New Surry Theatre’s website at newsurrytheatre.org or by calling 200-4720. Performances are on November 2, 3, 9, 10, 16 and 17 at 7 p.m. and November 11 at 3 p.m at the Blue Hill Town Hall Theater.
