Healthy Peninsula receives planning grant
Healthy Peninsula, a nonprofit dedicated to improving the health of people in local towns, has received a $30,000, one-year planning grant from the Maine Health Access Foundation.
The “Catalyzing Rural Health Transformation” grants promote collaborative approaches to improve health and health care access in Maine’s rural communities.
Blue Hill Memorial Hospital will participate as a core partner in the grant, as will a number of other social service and medical organizations that serve the Blue Hill Peninsula, Deer Isle and Stonington.
The year will be spent exploring local peoples’ opinions and using them to develop a plan for improved healthcare delivery.
