Sedgwick first selectman’s race heats up

by Anne Berleant

Marking a second contested selectmen’s race in as many years, incumbent Neil Davis and Jeff Buchholz have filed nomination papers for an open first selectman seat. Last year, Nelson Grindal unseated Colby Pert in a race to fill the open second selectman seat.

Incumbent Michele Levesque is running for reelection to the school board, as is Cynthia Reilly for town treasurer. Both are three-year terms.

The deadline for filing was January 21.

Town meeting will convene on Friday, March 7 (elections) and Saturday, March 8 (remainder of warrant articles).

Write-in candidates can still run for any seat. Write-ins are encouraged to call The Packet to be included in coverage.
