Trio Cleonice to perform in Castine
The Trio Cleonice, Graduate Piano Trio in Residence at the New England Conservatory of Music, will present a concert on Wednesday, September 3, at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Castine located on the village green. The concert will take place at 7 p.m. and is open to all. There is a suggested donation. The music by Beethoven, Dvorak, and Ran will represent some of the greatest pieces in the chamber music literature for piano trio, according to a news release.
Violinist Ari Isaacman-Beck, cellist Gwendolyn Krosnick, and pianist Emely Phelps, each accomplished as soloists on their respective instruments, formed the Trio Cleonice at the Kneisel Hall Chamber Music Festival in the summer of 2008. In their short time together, the group has established itself as one of the most creative, communicative, and exciting young ensembles in the United States.
During the past year, the group has performed in New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and most recently in China. For more information about the concert, contact Albert Stwertka (music committee) at 469-2455 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
