Open house scheduled
New fitness center opens in Deer Isle

by Faith DeAmbrose

A fitness center—complete with class schedule, new equipment and personal training will soon open its doors to the public.

It’s called Physique, and owner Kelley Tardif wants the community to see her new venture. To that end, she has arranged a two-day open house ahead of the September 2 opening date. Tardif is not setting specific hours for the open house, but said she will be there from morning straight through the day, and into evening, to allow as many people as possible to walk through the doors.

Tardif has a number of ideas for the new business, one of which is to establish a scholarship fund tied to the local high school and paid for by a percentage of each membership sold. She will also host Zumba classes with teacher Miranda Clough and hopes to add other things such as yoga to the class schedule.

Monthly memberships are available.

The open house will be held August 28 and 29. Visit website (coming soon) or call at 348-2858 for more information. Tardif can also be contacted directly with specific questions at 460-0192.
