IHE offers Hancock County teachers free course

The Institute for Humane Education is offering a free, online professional development course, Teaching for a Positive Future, to Hancock County teachers starting October 7. The free course offering is made possible through grants from the Bay & Paul Foundations, New Visions Foundation and Maine Community Foundation, according to a news release from IHE.

The six-week course is designed to help teachers inspire their students to become leaders and change-makers for creating a healthy, just and sustainable world, no matter what subject or grade level they teach. The course provides support and motivation to teach valuable critical and creative thinking skills to tackle global challenges. Participants will learn how to help students nurture connection and embrace responsibility so they can bring about a better world. Continuing Education Units are available through the University of Maine.

To take advantage of the free enrollment, Hancock County teachers, other educators and administrators should email info@humaneeducation.org. For more information, visit humaneeducation.org/online courses/teaching-for-a-positive-future.
