“Good luck, runners!”

On October 30, 37 students ran 1.5 miles, or twice around the school’s Rocky Ridge Fitness Trail, in Sedgwick Elementary School’s 11th annual Great Race. Seventh grader Thomas Fowler and eighth grader Joe Snow broke through the finish line together for a first-place finish but all the runners came out ahead in fitness. To qualify for the race, students had completed one lap in 8.5 minutes or under during gym class. Physical Education teacher Dwayne Carter wished the runners luck, telling all the students running can be a lifelong habit “and it’s really good for your health.”
