Happy July 4 in Harborside

Independence Day was celebrated Brooksville-style on Wednesday, July 4, under clear skies and brilliant, hot sun. Started 33 years ago by three Harborside families to entertain their own children, the event has grown beyond a parade with walkers and antique cars to a balloon toss, pie-eating contest, and the election of the Mayor of Harborside, as the tiny village swells with songs, poems, and a crowd decked out in red, white and blue.
