Celebrating Penobscot Day
Penobscot residents, friends and family members gathered for a day of celebration during the annual Penobscot Day on July 8. The festivities started early with an all-day yard sale at the Penobscot Historical Society, and later in the morning several floats and participants walked from the South Penobscot Baptist Church to Penobscot Community School in a parade to show their Penobscot pride. Lunches were held at the fire department and the historical society, and games were available for the children at the school. Fireworks were launched at dusk to close out the celebration.
