Celebrating Easter traditions
In addition to an egg hunt, the Down-Easter Egg Hunt also featured crafts, a parade and a visit from the Easter Bunny on April 15. The event started with about 75 participants decorating paper Easter bags, provided by the Island Community Center. From there, the children went to the library where Vicki Zelnick read an Easter story. A visit with the Easter Bunny took place at Camden National Bank, followed by an informal parade down Main Street, stopping at several places for treats. The event finished with the Easter egg hunt at the Stonington Opera House, where over 300 eggs were hidden.
