Blue Hill: The town park, at the end of Water St. off Main St. in Blue Hill, overlooks the harbor and is a great place to give the kids a chance to unwind on the playground. Public library, corner of Main St. and Parker Point Rd. For more information, call 374-5515 or visit bluehill.lib.me.us.

The Peninsula Skating Association maintains a skating rink on Union Street. For more information, visit psarink.org or find them on Facebook.

Brooklin: Friend Memorial Library on Rte. 175 in the village, 359-2276 or visit friendml.org

Castine: Witherle Library often has events for children, 326-4375, or visit witherle.lib.me.us.

Deer Isle and Stonington: Enjoy the playground, ball field and basketball court at the Island Community Center, up the hill from the Opera House on your right and left. Info: islandcommunitycenter.net.

The Stonington Public Library and the Chase Emerson Memorial Library in Deer Isle often have story readings or other events—check our community calendar at penobscotbaypress.com. Enjoy the ice-skating rink hosted by the Island Recreation Board across from the former Stonington Elementary School.
