Cell phone service is steadily improving in the area, but is notoriously spotty, especially along the coast. Granite, the stone dominating most of the coastline, interferes with signals. Head for higher ground when you need to make or take a call—or maybe just let it go to voicemail and relax on the beach with a good book instead. Conversely, head out to open ocean, where signal strength improves. |
