BLUE HILL—For the very best local products, amazing food and friendly customer service, visit the Blue Hill Co-op Community Market & Café!
It’s a natural foods store and café, a community-owned and cooperatively run business, a cornerstone of the Blue Hill Peninsula for over 30 years.
What a unique experience! Lots of products are from Maine, many from the Peninsula. We carry products geared to special dietary needs, such as gluten-free or dairy-free, as well as organic, sustainably farmed, fairly traded products. It’s a gathering center in the commu- nity—a place for post- ing event information, meeting friends, and catching up.
The Co-op is a full- line grocery store with an extensive selection—over 500 bulk items, baked goods, health and beauty products, pet food and cleaning supplies. Meat and dairy cases over- flow with farm-fresh eggs, beef, chick- en, pork, sausage, artisanal cheese, raw milk and yogurt in jars.
For more immediate needs, the Café offers daily breakfast and lunch specials. Meet up with a friend for a cup of tea or coffee—Fair Trade or 44 North. The Café has sandwiches, soups, salads, baked goods and goodies.
The staff is friendly and knowl- edgeable. No “big box” experience here! They can help you find just what you’re looking for or can special order products not in stock.
You don’t need to be a Co-op owner to shop, but ownership has its benefits!
The Blue Hill Co-op Community Market and Café is on the Ellsworth Road (Route 172) at the bottom of the hill. Summer hours: 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. VISA, MasterCard, debit and EBT are accepted.
