The Town of Blue Hill will begin selling Clam Licenses on March 1, 2012. The number of licenses available are as follows:

Non-resident - 9
Senior Resident - 8
Senior Non-resident - 4

RECREATIONAL
Resident - 40
Non-resident - 20
Senior Resident - 10
Senior Non-resident - 5
Resident junior - 5
Non-resident junior -5

Seniority Licenses must be purchased by March 15, 2012.


LEGAL NOTICE

Notice is hereby given that absentee ballots for the March 5, 2012, Deer Isle-Stonington CSD school committee elections will be available at the Town Offices of Deer Isle and Stonington on February 3rd during the posted office hours. Two (2) three-year committee terms will be filled by election.


PUBLIC NOTICE OF INTENT TO FILE

Please take notice that Georgia Stone Ind., Inc. of 15 Branch Pike, Smithfield, RI 02917, (401) 232-2040, intends to file an Air Emissions License application with the Maine Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) pursuant to the provisions of 38 M.R.S.A., Section 590 on March 1, 2012. The application is for Air Emission License Renewal at Stonington, Maine. According to Department regulations, interested parties must be publicly notified, written comments invited and if justified, an opportunity for public hearing given. A request for a public hearing or for the Board of Environmental Protection to assume jurisdiction must be received by the Department, in writing, no later than 20 days after the application is accepted by the Department as complete for processing.

The application and supporting documentation will be available for review at the bureau of Air Quality (BAQ) DEP offices in Augusta, (207) 287-2437, during normal working hours. A copy of the application and supporting documentation will also be available at the municipal office in Stonington, Maine.

Written public comments may be sent to Project Manager Marc Cone at the Bureau of Air Quality, State House Station #17, Augusta, Maine 04333.


PUBLIC NOTICE
Vacancy on the Penobscot School Committee

The Penobscot School Committee wishes to hear from citizens who are interested in being appointed to the Penobscot School Committee. The Committee wishes to fill a vacancy created by the recent resignation of Karrie Prescott. The special appointment will expire at the time of the general town election held in March 2013. To be considered, you must be a registered voter of Penobscot, Maine. If you would like to be considered, please contact the Superintendent of Schools Office, PO Box 630, Blue Hill, ME 04614 (374-9927) by noon on February 10, 2012. The School Committee will hold interviews of those submitting their names at their regular School Committee meeting, February 13, 2012, at 5:30 p.m. at the Penobscot Community School.
